Surface variants
The right care
Are you looking for a distinctive piece of jewelry? Then you are in good hands at Yorxs. With us you have the opportunity to choose your diamond, your setting and even the surface. This results in a multitude of possible combinations.
For the solitaire rings, Yorxs offers polished, matt and black rhodium-plated surfaces. When it comes to wedding rings, the choice is greater and you can choose from five different surfaces.
Polished
The “Polished” surface variation is the most popular of all jewelry surfaces. Mechanical smoothing brings out the natural shine of the precious metal. The reflective setting harmonizes ideally with diamonds, the brilliance of the diamonds comes into its own perfectly.
Over time, a highly polished piece of jewelry takes on a unique patina in the form of signs of wear. 750 yellow gold (18 carat) in particular has a beautiful, evenly velvety patina.
Matted
The matting of a precious metal frame is caused by roughening the surface. This can be achieved mechanically (brushing, grinding), chemically (etching, pigment application) or through radiation.
The combination of the frosted setting and sparkling diamonds creates a sophisticated contrast that is becoming increasingly popular. For pieces of jewelry that are worn every day, a matt polish is also a smart choice, as signs of wear are not immediately noticeable.
But even the even matting changes its appearance over time due to signs of wear and a patina also develops.
Black rhodium plated
With the “black rhodium-plated” surface variation, a black rhodium layer is placed over the setting of the piece of jewelry. This gives the piece of jewelry an anthracite-colored surface that contrasts unusually with the sparkling diamond.
Rhodium coatings are chemically and mechanically very robust. If they do become worn out, the black rhodium layer can be quickly and easily restored. The yellow gold color is influenced by the amount of gold. The higher the proportion of gold, the stronger the yellowish color.
In Germany, a material may only be stamped as “yellow gold” if the gold content is at least 33% (333 gold 8K). In other countries the limit is even 37.5% or 58.5%. Karat is the traditional unit of measurement for the purity of gold jewelry. 24 carats correspond to a gold content of 100%.
1 carat therefore corresponds to a gold content of 4.167%. The 750 yellow gold has a pure gold content of 75% and corresponds to 18 carats (0.75*24).
