Red gold

Red gold / rose gold

Red gold is a gold alloy. Additional materials are added to the pure gold to make it easier to create a piece of jewelry and to change the natural yellow color of gold. Red gold, often also called rose gold or purple gold, has enjoyed great popularity, particularly in recent years.

The red gold tone flatters the skin and looks warm and fresh . Hollywood stars in particular have developed a soft spot for the material and thus further promoted its popularity. The different names usually also reflect the copper content. Rose gold is less reddish and has a lower copper content than red gold.

The story of red gold

Gold has been processed by humans for over 6,000 years. Red gold, on the other hand, only became popular in Eastern Europe at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. Today the material is in demand worldwide.

Red gold at Yorxs

Yorxs only offers you the very high quality alloys 585 red gold 14 K and 750 red gold 18 K. For Yorxs products offered in rose gold, you can choose between “ polished ” and “ mattfinishes , depending on availability.

Red gold - rose to rust red

The red gold alloy gets its reddish tint by adding copper. This simultaneously improves the strength and hardness of the material. To simplify jewelry making, small amounts of silver are usually added.

The amount of copper is always larger than the amount of silver. Palladium is added to high-quality red gold alloys as this has a discoloring effect and improves durability. Depending on the ratio of metals, the color palette ranges from light red gold, also known as rose gold, to a deep rust red. The unit of measurement for the purity of gold jewelry is carat.

24 carats correspond to a pure gold content of 100%. 1 carat corresponds to a gold content of 4.167%. The 585 red gold has a pure gold content of 58.5% and corresponds to 14 carats (0.585*24).

585 yellow gold 14 K

585 yellow gold is a classic material for elegant pieces of jewelry. The yellow gold alloy meets high standards of hardness and tarnishing resistance. Due to its slightly lower gold content, it has a slightly more subtle color than an 18 carat alloy.

750 yellow gold 18 K

Stronger in color, slightly softer: with its high gold content, 750 yellow gold is the even more valuable “big brother” of 585 yellow gold. Pieces of jewelry made of 18-carat gold are characterized by an intensely bright gold tone. The patina inherent in 18K yellow gold gives your piece of jewelry a very special charm even after many years of wear.

Custom-made: In combination with white gold

Yorxs offers you the option to choose a combination setting of yellow and white gold. In this special model, a white gold setting is attached to the ring head on a yellow gold ring band. This combination is particularly popular because the white gold setting does not produce any color reflections in the diamond. This combination is suitable for the prong setting and the frame setting.
